Sustainable design concepts are not new to us! We have been designing since the 1980’s buildings that are site orientated for passive breezes, solar shading, thermal shielding and chimney effect cooling. Gone are the Trombe walls of that era, but today we incorporate new recycled materials, energy saving appliances, recycling properties, insulated systems and buildings that protect themselves from the environment with the press of an app. We were an early adopter of the Austin Energy Green Building Program, we are a member of the US Green Building Council, DOE Energy Star Partners and pledged to the Architecture 2030 commitment. We believe that many green building aspects, especially those with small or no additional cost, are part of everyday good design.
